PUPILS with special education needs (SEN) are well served by mainstream schools, but local education authority (LEA) support varies greatly, according to new reports published by the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED).
To help address the variation in the level of support offered by LEAs, Ofsted has published 'Special educational needs in the mainstream: LEA policy and support services' which highlights examples of good practice in LEAs that have satisfactory or better provision for pupils with SEN.
