NOW summer has ended and schoolkids are back at school some parents may find themselves at a loose end.
But this is the best time of year to take up a new hobby or explore a new subject in an evening class.
'Teach yourself' are running a 'Go on, try something new' promotion in bookshops until the end of October.
They have a range covering over 300 subjects and the books are a great accompaniment to an evening class or an ideal way to educate and entertain.
The books are aimed at all ages and abilities and written with no confusing jargon or technical language.
They also offer their top tips for stress-free studying: choose a subject you have a passion for; immerse yourself in the subject; schedule some time just for you; don't be intimidated by a classroom and if you are nervous, try studying with a friend.
Teach Yourself books, published by Hodder & Stoughton, are available from all good bookstores and online retailers from £4.99.
