ARTISTS in Pendle are putting the finishing touches to their masterpieces as the closing date for this year's Pendle in Paint competition approaches.

The exhibition, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, is now in its 20th year and last year generated almost £3,000 in sales.

This year there are three main categories for entries - people, places and moods - but there is also the gold category for previous winners of the competition.

All the work can be seen at Colne Municipal Hall from Thursday, October 9.

Artists can submit up to three paintings on Sunday, October 5, 10am to 2pm, and Monday, October 6, 10am to 12pm.
