STUDENTS who lost out on a university place because they did not get their expected A-level grades have another option.
Bury College is offering three new foundation degrees in early years, community performance and tourism and leisure management, which are validated by Bolton Institute and Huddersfield University.
Their standard is between A levels and an honours degree or higher level professional qualification. Plenty of practical work experience or the chance to work in simulated work environments is involved. Students can also receive part of their assessment in the workplace.
Dr Helen Gilchrist, principal of Bury College said: "Foundation degrees are a fantastic opportunity, designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge that employers increasingly demand."
