Accrington Stanley's youth team got off to a winning start in the Lancashire FA Under 18 Floodlit League.
The Reds enjoyed a 4-0 home win over Blackpool Wren Rover last night, despite being reduced to 10 men after Joe Robinson was sent off just 10 minutes into the game.
Mark Castley got Stanley off the mark by firing in an 18-yard free kick on five minutes before Ryan Lilley completed a first-half hat-trick.
His first arrived after around 20 minutes with a header from Adam Connolly's cross, then John Gibson set him up with a chance to beat the keeper at the near post.
Lilley rounded off a great display with his third after a Stanley free kick hit the wall and the ball bounced into his path.
Stanley's reserves entertain Ossett Albion tomorrow night at the Interlink Express Stadium (kick-off 7.30pm).
The team usually uses Great Harwood's ground for reserve matches but the Showground is not available for this fixture.
