A SKATE park aimed at keeping skaters out of the town centre will be opened in Burnley's Queen's Park on Sunday.
A number of events are planned for the launch, including a display of professional skate boarding, music and prize giveaways.
Skateboarders, BMX bikers and in-line skaters will all be able to use the purpose built site which includes specially-constructed ramps, grindrails and driveways.
It was developed as part of the Teenzone project, a scheme funded by European cash to provide facilities for youngsters.
The skate park and four refurbished tennis courts cost around £235,000. Burnley Borough Council secured funding from government grants for the work and chose the site after 250 youngsters in the town were consulted.
Simon Goff, the council's parks services manager said: "The new skatepark is part of the Teenzone project and was developed in response to the need to improve recreation facilities for teenagers. It has been designed by a specialist skatepark designer following consultation with local skaters."
