TWO drug addicts who went pinching asked Burnley magistrates to send them to jail and got their wish.
The Burnley bench heard how Axis Robertson, 23, and Scott Simpson, 25, wanted to kick their habits and realised the best place to do it was prison.
The duo were sent to custody for three months each after the justices told them the offence had been a joint enterprise.
The bench told Robertson he was a persistent offender, was in breach of a conditional discharge and had offended while subject to a community rehabilitation order. They said Simpson offended while on bail.
Robertson, of Poplar Street, Nelson, and Simpson, of Railway Street, Nelson, both admitted theft.
Richard Taylor, defending, said Simpson and Robertson were both realistic about their lifestyles. They both knew where their lives were going, they now had to do something about it.
