WHAT asses the magistrates and the Environment Agency are.
The Citizen reported last week that they stung a small plumber £1,900 for having pieces of old asbestos flue-pipe in his van - but any risk from asbestos is only when it is powdered, not when it is in a van.
The Environment Agency took no action when the dust (including asbestos) from demolishing the old Post Office garage in Fenton Street choked children in the Dallas Road school playground, so why come down heavy on this man?
So who grassed on this plumber? Surely police time would be better spent on dealing with the kids who set fire to empty houses in Slyne or 'key' the cars of anyone who they know reports them to the police?
