THE last seven days have been pretty depressing for everyone connected with Blackburn Rovers.
A defeat in Turkey against Genclerbirligi last Wednesday, swiftly followed by another at the hands of Fulham on Sunday.
But if we thought we were having it tough then that's nothing compared to what's happening at Leeds right now.
The new season might be less than two months old but already people are speculating about the future of United manager Peter Reid, pictured.
I know their results haven't exactly been great this season but surely he deserves more time to get things right than he has been given so far.
Given the huge number of players who've left Elland Road in the last 12 months, even David Blaine would struggle to get results for United right now.
But that doesn't mean to say we just have to turn up there on Saturday in order to pick up the three points.
There's nothing more dangerous than an animal when it's cornered and you can bet your bottom dollar that Peter Reid will have his players fired up and ready for our visit.
Peter is a proud man and last week's 4-0 defeat at the hands of Everton will have hurt him badly.
He won't have enjoyed all the adverse publicity in the media this week surrounding both the club and his job.
He will now be demanding a reaction from his players and it's up to us to make sure we are not the fall guys.
Sunday's defeat against Fulham was desperately disappointing, especially on the back of what happened in the UEFA Cup.
All the lads were really fired up to get a result after two straight defeats at home but when you concede an early goal like that it kills you.
Fair play to them, they came to Ewood with a gameplan and it came off.
But we made trouble for ourselves by shipping a soft goal like that with less than five minutes on the clock.
After that, you're always going to be left fighting an uphill battle and we didn't show enough quality to get ourselves back into the game.
But we can't afford to get too despondent, no matter how disappointing it was.
We had a clear-the-air meeting earlier this week in which the manager got a few things off his chest.
