GRACING the stage in concert on Saturday, October 11 at St Joseph's Hall in Leigh is Bernard Wrigley alias The Bolton Bullfrog.
That nickname has stuck with him for over 30 years -- ever since it was mentioned in the sleeve notes of his very first LP.
Some people will know him as a singer, others as an actor, and those who can't place him will probably have seen him cropping up in TV dramas such as "Emmerdale", "Dinner Ladies" and most recently in "Phoenix
Nights".
Here he plays Dodgy Eric, a character who brings Brian Potter a mechanical bucking bronco and a bouncy castle complete with a phallic extension.
At Christmas he'll be a character in "The Royal", complete with a huge beard and bushy eyebrows! He read a series of 15 very silly "Old English Customs" this summer for Mark and Lard's show on Radio One, and has made four series of programmes for Radio Lancashire.
On the singing side he has just brought out his fourteenth CD "Monologology". His stage performance includes stories, songs and nifty guitar playing, all spiced with his characteristic sense of humour.

The concert at St. Jo's in Chapel Street, is one of a series hosted by Leigh's very own "Calico". Tickets price £6 each are available from Calico singer Pauline on 01942 604603.
