CRICKETING barman Adam Cotton hopes to prove a big hit in the Ribble Valley by bringing a taste of South Africa to East Lancashire.
It is two years since Adam moved to South Africa to play Cricket. Now he has returned to the UK to become licensee at the Buck Inn, in Lowergate, Clitheroe.
All-rounder Adam is originally from the Fylde Coast and used to play for St Anne's Cricket Club. He was given the chance to play abroad in 1999 at the age of 19 when South African Dave Callaghan, who was Fylde's professional, asked Adam out there as a paid amateur.
Adam spent two summers playing for both Port Elizabeth CC and Pirates CC before moving permanently there for two years.
He said: "On returning home I fancied my hand at running a pub and when the Buck Inn became available it was a very easy decision."
Adam now hopes to bring some exotic cocktails inspired by his time in South Africa to the Buck Inn alongside the traditional pints.
