A MEMORABILIA day held to raise money to produce a Boothstown history book was hailed a resounding success -- after more than £700 was collected.
The day attracted scores of people to the Boothstown Methodist Church last Saturday who came to see old photographs which had been collected by villager Ken Fairfax.
Local historian Paul Hassall was also on hand to offer his expert knowledge on the history of Boothstown to interested people.
Mr Fairfax told the Journal: "We had a remarkable turnout, which shows there is a lot of interest in the history of Boothstown from local people."
He said they managed to raise a total of £711 which would go towards the publication of the book.
