I ALWAYS thought that it was a privilege to be able to live by the Leeds-Liverpool canal and to be able to walk the length and breadth of it and to even fish it.
I have seen young fishermen throw their beer cans and rubbish into the bushes and fire their catapults at the geese on the canal.
Some dog owners still allow their dogs to foul the paths, making it difficult for people to walk without always having to watch where they put their feet.
Of course, if you try to comment upon these actions you just get foul-mouthed abuse. It is such a shame.
