RETIRED headteacher Gerrard McConville has learned a thing or two about printmaking.
And he is about to teach others about the art with an exhibition at Prestwich Library.
Mr McConville lives in Sedgley Park and has spent much of his career teaching in secondary schools in Salford and Manchester.
Even after he retired, he continued to teach painting and drawing to exam level.
Always ready to learn skills, the 59-year-old took a degree course in fine art at Bolton Institute and was introduced to printmaking.
Now he is studying the subject for a post-graduate course at Salford University.
Mr McConville said: "I'm really excited about the exhibition and I have already had quite a bit of interest in my work. The exhibition aims to celebrate the ordinary and overlooked and make people look at them in other ways."
The exhibition is at Prestwich Library, in the Exhibition Room until October 24.
