CYCLISTS in Pendle are making a series of guided bike rides a success.
More than 30 people joined the second ride in the series last weekend, which took them from Seedhill Athletic Centre, along the Pennine Cycleway to Towneley Park, in Burnley.
Mark Sandamas, of organisers Pennine Events, said: "The turnout was very encouraging. All the participants were keen to cycle more, but were unsure of suitable, safe routes, so it was very pleasing to be able to help them."
Routes have been designed for people of all ages and abilities. The next ride takes place this Sunday, at 11am. It will follow the Pennine Cycleway along the canal from Nelson to Greenberfield locks, Barnoldswick, and back. Riders, who are advised to wear a helmet, should meet at Seedhill Athletics Centre at 10.50am, or at the Norfolk Street entrance to the canal at 11am. Phone 01282 814783 for more details.
