THERE was more success in the Central Lancs Junior Swimming League for Radcliffe, which was followed by another good performance in the second of the Central Lancs Warburton galas held recently at Broughton Baths.
Looking for maximum points in the junior league fixture against Saddleworth, Radcliffe lost just one very close race all night and finished easy winners by 67-39.
Radcliffe's final gala in the junior league will be a hard one against Ramsbottom, but the local side will be hoping to do well.
In the Warburton competition, Aaron Greenhalgh, Joanne Long, Sam Barrow, Abigail Coop, Emma Barrow, Charlotte Lomas and Matthew Balmer all finished in the top six.
On his birthday, Aaron Greenhalgh was delighted to finish first in the 15 years 100m freestyle in a time of 58.85, and first in the 50m breaststroke in 34.12.
Joanne Long was also in good form coming second in the 14 years 100m freestyle in a time of 1.05.13, and third in the 200m Individual medley in 2.43.81.
Sam Barrow swam well but was below his best, coming second in the 13-years 100m backstroke in 1.11.75, and fifth in the 200m Individual medley in 2.40.97.
Abigail Coop continued to improve, coming fourth in the nine-years 50m breaststroke, Emma Barrow was sixth in the 15 years 100m butterfly, Charlotte Lomas was fifth in the 14 years 50m breaststroke, and Matthew Balmer fourth in the 16 years 100m butterfly.
The next Warburton Gala will also feature the age group relays where Radcliffe will again be hoping to finish among the medal places.
