BEECHGROVE House, Chesham Road, Bury, closed a few weeks ago. The matter was brought up at the area board meeting in Radcliffe on September 15 when rumours were rife in the social services that the home was going to be re-opened again. But this was denied by local councillors.
Why might they need to re-open Beechgrove? So that Killelea EPH can have bathrooms fitted in the bedrooms, which would necessitate having to move services out to allow the work to be undertaken. If this is so, why the denial by local councillors? Is it because those at the top have dropped a clanger and don't like to admit it?
It would certainly cost a lot to re-open the home as there is only a shell left. Everything was moved out or put into skips. Could someone tell me what is happening?
