A MAN killed himself after becoming depressed, an inquest heard.
Paul Whalley, 34, formerly of Burnley, was found in his flat in Paisley Road West, Glasgow, where he had lived for about a year. He had slit his wrists.
A statement read to the inquest from his flatmate said Mr Whalley, who worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland, was found in the bathroom.
A knife was found nearby along with five notes he had written to his friends and family.
The court heard Mr Whalley had been suffering from depression and was worried about appearing as a witness in a court case.
Acting East Lancashire coroner Richard Taylor recorded a verdict of suicide.
He said: "In cases like this I have to consider the element of planning and this was planned because five notes were found.
"We may never know why he was depressed but I have no doubt he intended the consequences of his actions."
The inquest was held in Burnley after the family requested his body be returned to the area.
