POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage student was hit on the back of the head and robbed while walking along a Nelson Street.
The 19-year-old was walking along Cravendale Avenue at 2am on Wednesday when he was approached from behind and knocked to the ground by a blow to the back of his head.
His pockets were searched and £20 was taken from his wallet, which was then thrown back in his face.
His mobile phone and driving licence were also stolen.
One of the robbers is described as an Asian male, aged between 16 and 18, of slim build with a big nose, a dimple on his chin and protruding ears.
He wore a cap with a vertical peak and dark coloured Adidas trousers with white panels down the side, black and white socks and Puma trainers.
He is thought to have been accompanied by two other Asian males of similar age.
