A 51 year old father of five showed two female neighbours the "full moon" following an exchange of words, a court was told.
Blackburn magistrates heard that David Leckie Fraser dropped his pants and exposed his bottom cheeks to the two ladies who had been chatting over the garden fence.
Fraser, of Fishmoor Drive, admitted a breach of the peace and was bound over in £100 to keep the peace for 12 months.
A charge of indecent exposure with intent to insult a female was withdrawn.
David Hartley, prosecuting, said the ladies were chatting when Fraser appeared and interrupted.
"There was some verbal abuse which culminated in him pulling his trousers down and exposing his bare buttocks," said Mr Hartley.
Scott Parker, defending, said Fraser was extremely ashamed of his behaviour.
"He has had a rollocking off his wife," said Mr Parker.
