HAVING recently spent eight days in Blackburn Infirmary, undergoing major surgery, my treatment from the consultants, doctors, nurses and staff of Ward 2 was of the highest standard.
The pre-counselling by the consultant surgeon and the clinic sister was conducted in a friendly, explicit, relaxed and informative manner, putting me completely at ease.
I found the ward to be clean and tidy; the nursing staff to be patient and caring.
I compliment the catering manager, chefs and kitchen staff on their varied menus, excellent food and superb presentation.
At present, when the NHS appears to be getting a bashing from all quarters, is it not refreshing to hear a lone voice saying ten out of ten, Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
PETER DOBSON, Beechwood Drive, Blackburn.
