A CHURCH in Leigh was badly damaged after a burst water pipe flooded the building.
Firefighters spent more than four hours stemming the flow of water at St Thomas's Church in Chapel Street on Saturday afternoon.
There was extensive damage to the original flooring, the cellar and the crypt and there was concern over whether water had got into the organ room.
