BURNLEY winger Alan Moore faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after undergoing ankle surgery later today.
The Republic of Ireland wide man has not featured in the Clarets squad since being named as a substitute against Nottingham Forest three weeks ago.
And boss Stan Ternent has revealed the limited numbers at his disposal have been further reduced following the news that Moore will now be out of action for at least six weeks.
Ternent, who was able to field just THREE substitutes against Walsall last Saturday following injuries and the late withdrawal of 'flu victim Gareth Farrelly, said: "Alan is having an operation on his ankle today, and I would say he will be out for six weeks minimum."
Moore joins a growing band of players currently unavailable for selection, including David May (hamstring) and Mark McGregor (knee).
In addition, Andy Todd has now returned to Blackburn following his loan spell, while fellow defender Arthur Gnohere remains on loan with Second Division outfit QPR .
