PARISH councillors in North Turton have voiced their opposition to plans for an equestrian development, including a timber framed stable unit and fodder store, at Hill Top Farm, in Blackburn Road, Edgworth.

The stable and store would be in a 'U' shaped layout and the proposals would also include a riding area which would be fenced off with railings.

The parish council has recommended that Blackburn with Darwen Council refuse the plans on the grounds that the development is in Green Belt land and the application gives the appearance of a commercial enterprise.

There were also concerns about the long, narrow track up to the farm, which is not in good condition, and serious worries about the exit into Blackburn Road.
