ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman has urged his side to stay focused after seeing them leak six goals in their last two games.

The Reds' boss bemoaned his defence following the 3-3 draw at struggling Northwich Victoria, who had only scored three goals at home so far this season before Saturday's game.

"We need to be better than that. We can defend better than that. You wouldn't think it was the same team who was defending so well against Dagenham, Barnet and Tamworth for long periods," Coleman said.

"At Aldershot we defended well in the main. So it's disappointing because you can't switch on and off in football and if you give teams chances, at any level, they're going to punish you.

"As a whole, defensively we were awful."

However, Stanley managed to extend their unbeaten run to eight games after taking an early lead through Rory Prendergast.
