BACUP finally won this Challenge Cup tie after a first half in which they stooped to the level of the league's bottom club.
Borough constantly gave the ball away but took the lead a minute before the break from the penalty spot, when David Gray scored.
At the start of the second half Bacup escaped a scare when Daisy Hill had a 'goal' disallowed but three minutes later they produced a second goal when Thompson picked his spot.
With 15 minutes to go Sean Cryer and Martin Peters were introduced, and Peters added a third when he bravely forced the ball over the line.
