AS the spectators who had provided the largest attendance to date this season left Gigg Lane on Saturday they were of one mind -- that the 3-1 defeat by Swansea Town was vitally linked with the injuries to Imlach and Gleadall.
To this extent they were sympathetically inclined towards the Shakers and there is no doubt the home team were largely the vcitims of misfortune.
Even so tribute should be paid to the lively Welsh team who in the end won on their merits. It was the Town's first success in 14 visits, so they were not winning out of turn. Despite being without Ivor Allchurch, they were the best equipped Swansea team seen at Bury for a long time, strong and efficient in most positions.

SHAKERS will be without their two latests signings Alan Suddick and Terry Curran for next Tuesday's League Cup third round tie at Millwall.
The Shakers were resigned to being without experienced midfield man Suddick, who played against Hull City in the second round while at Southport, but they had counted on having winger Curran available after signing him on a month's loan from Nottingham Forest last week.
Their hopes were dashed however on Tuesday when Forest manager Brian Clough announced he was not prepared to let Curran become cup-tied.
BORO: Radcliffe Borough Football Club will next week appeal to the town to keep alive its cash-starved soccer team.
A crisis meeting has been fixed for next Tuesday which will in effect decide whether the team can continue playing.
This follows last week's bombshell announcement that the Borough Social Club, facing huge debts, has had to stop its vital £150-a-week subsidy to the team as part of its own battle to stay open.
The move confronted players and team officials with the prospect of immediate closure.
