THIS year's Passport to Family Learning and Fun, which will be launched on Friday , involves more than 200 activities all over the country...and dozens of events across East Lancashire.
The aim of the event, planned by Lancashire County Council, is to allow families to have fun at the same time as learning something new.
Highlights will include appearances from the Animal Man, who will be taking his collection of creepy crawlies, snakes and owls to libraries all over Lancashire.
While those looking for a blast from the past can take a peek at the Viking Invaders event at Fleetwood Museum -- which will include the chance to meet Eric and Hilda the Vikings in their walkabout Viking longboat.
For those families who fancy some outdoors fun, an autumn walk around the woodland at Spring Wood Visitor Centre near Whalley will appeal on October 29.
Other local events will include toddler aerobics and family keep fit fun at Marsden Community Centre, Nelson on October 11, introduction to the Internet at Bacup Library, Bacup on October 15, family tree tracing at Accrington Library on October 16 and Orienteering for beginners at Bowland Visitor Centre, Goosnargh, on October 30.
Anyone wanting to take part in this year's event can pick up their 'passport', detailing all local events from libraries, the venues taking part, County Information Centres and County Hall in Preston.
