DOZENS of Bury residents have seen the light and swapped their ordinary light bulbs for energy-saving ones.
More than 60 people made the swap when they visited Bury Council's energy show house.
Councillor Stella Smith, executive member for environment and transport, said: "It's great to see so many people interested in saving energy and their new energy efficient light bulbs will help them to save money on their electricity bills.
"Each bulb uses a fifth of the electricity of an ordinary bulb and will last, on average use, for 12 years. There are lots more ways that people can reduce their energy use and the energy show house has plenty of tips and advice for people."
The show house at 20 Parsonage Street, Bury, is open on Tuesdays (4pm to 7pm), Wednesdays (1.30pm to 4.30pm) and Fridays (9.30am to 12.30pm).
FREE low-energy bulbs will be handed out today (Tuesday Oct 7) in the Mill Gate centre in Bury.
Shoppers can also enter a competition to win an A-rated washing machine and pick up advice on ways to save energy.
