A COFFEE evening held by Cliviger Guides in aid of the Macmillan Nurse Appeal raised £95 for the charity.
The Guides and leaders would like to thank all the parents and friends who supported their efforts.
A coffee morning held at Mount Zion Church raised £150 for the same cause.
THERE will be a jumble and bric-a-brac sale at the Village Hall tonight, starting at 6.30pm. Any donations of sale items would be appreciated. They can be left at the hall between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
THE parish council has received a reply from the street lighting department in response to a request for additional lights in Red Lees Road between Salterford Lane and Foxstones Lane. This project had been planned as far back as 1992 but has not been carried out due to financial constraints.
CLIVIGER Recreation and Community Association (CRaCA) will hold its monthly meeting tomorrow at the Kettledrum, starting at 8pm. Anyone interested in joining or simply finding out more about the organisation is welcome to go along.
LANCASHIRE County Council has moved to ease concerns over a barbed wire fence adjoining a public footway in Mount Lane. The council's area surveyor has looked at the issue and decided that as the wire is attached to the field side of the posts it is not considered to be a danger to pedestrians.
THE October meeting of Cliviger Parish Council will be held at the Village Hall on Friday, starting at 7pm.
