A SINGLE mother who appeared to have left the road and crashed her car into a wall was unsteady on her feet, a court heard.
Burnley magistrates heard how Katrina Everet, 34, whose eyes were also glazed, was said to have refused requests to provide a specimen of breath.
She had refused to get out of a police car and had to be pulled from the vehicle and put into a van. Once at the police station, she was swaying from side to side.
Everet, of Queens View, Brierfield, admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and using an uninsured vehicle. She was fined £450, banned for 16 months and must pay £55 costs.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said an office worker at Glen Way, Brierfield, heard a loud bang at about 1.15pm. He saw a damaged car in the middle of the road, blocking it. The defendant was helped out of the vehicle and police attended.
Officers asked Everet to give a breath test, but she didn't. She was not co-operative, had to be pulled from a police car into a van and was taken to the police station.
Mr Robinson said the defendant then agreed to give two samples, put the mouthpiece in her mouth and was told she had to take a take a big breath. She did but exhaled instead.
John Nuttall, defending, said Everet was extremely embarrassed about her court appearance.
