A 50-YEAR-OLD man has appeared before Burnley Magistrates accused of causing trouble at the family-owned shop of a man accused of murder.
Paul Pickering, of Talbot Street, Colne, is charged with two racially aggravated allegations of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on October 3.
The alleged offences involve relations of brothers Hasan Mumtaz, 18, and Wasim Mumtaz, 21, who are both in custody.
Hasan Mumtaz has been accused of the murder of Sean Whyte, 17, of North Street, Colne, who died from stab wounds last week after police found him collapsed near his home.
The Mumtaz brothers, who also live on North Street, are both also accused of violent disorder and Wasim Mumtaz is charged with wounding Mr Whyte's aunt, Agnes Rennie, causing her grievous bodily harm.
Pickering was bailed to live at the Bowling Green Hostel in Carlisle and his case was adjourned until October 14.
