A RADIO station is to broadcast in Blackburn throughout the month of Ramadan -- and it needs people from the community to get involved.
Radio Ramadan will broadcast from October 26 until November 26, 24 hours a day.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim year, during which strict fasting is observed from sunrise to sunset.
Radio Ramadan, broadcasting on 106FM, will include programmes in Urdu, English, Punjabi, Mirpuri, Kashmiri and Gujerati.
Asif Raza, of Radio Ramadan, wants local Muslim people and the wider community to get involved in using their skills and knowledge for broadcasts.
Asif said: "We want the community to come forward and help us. They can come and present programmes, speak about community issues, raise money for charity and ,of course, we want people to listen."
It is the fourth time Radio Ramadan has been broadcast in Blackburn with equipment having been bought and hired by the organisers.
Daily programmes will include Sehri -- when the fast starts -- Kids Corner, interviews and debates, programmes in Punjabi and Gujerati, and programmes for women.
