Manager Brent Peters hasn't managed to lure Welsh wing wizard Ryan away from Manchester United but believes he has got the next best thing after snapping up Ryan's younger brother Rhodri.
The 26-year-old started his career as a trainee at Torquay United before moving on to the non-league scene, where he played for Bangor City and Salford City before moving to West View from UniBond First Division side Kidsgrove Athletic.
Peters beat competition from Trafford and Woodley Sports to secure Giggs' signature and says it's a move which highlights the club's ambition.
"This is a massive coup for Bacup Borough," he said.
"It might have opened a few people's eyes but such is the club's progress that players of Rhodri's calibre are wanting to come here.
"He's got all the attributes of his brother. He's got good skills and tricks and has already scored eight goals this season operating from either midfield or just behind the front two."
Bacup travel to take on Squres Gate tonight, and Giggs looks set to make his debut.
But Peters revealed Borough supporters may have to wait to see him in action at West View.
"Unfortunately he had a prior arrangement to see his brother playing for Wales on Saturday," he said.
"If he can get out of it, he will be joining us, but we'll have to wait and see."
