FOOTBALL Association bosses today praised fans in East Lancashire for supporting the nation's women's football team.
Now the women's side is set to return to Lancashire, thanks to the support the players received at their last game in the region.
FA chiefs have decided that the women's team will return to Lancashire next month to play an international match against Scotland at Preston North End's ground, following the great support received at September's historic victory over Australia at Burnley FC's ground..
And the FA has praised the fans who turned out to the September game at Turf Moor.
An FA Spokesman said: "The Football Association is delighted to be bringing Hope Powell's side back to the county just two months after the 1-0 win over Australia which was watched by over 4,000 fans at Turf Moor, despite calling the game at short notice."
The Scotland match will take place at Preston's Deepdale ground on Thursday, November 13, at 7.45pm, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
National Coach Hope Powell said: "The reception we had from the people of Lancashire was fantastic at the last international and we're pleased to be coming back."
