Rani Mukherjee could be the new woman in Ben Affleck's life. The Bollywood siren is being lined up to star in a film with the Hollywood heartthrob. Art house director Dev Benegal is planning to make a romantic comedy titled Bombay California.
The film will feature Rani Mukherjee with either Ben Affleck or Ethan Hawke; after both the Hollywood stars expressed interest in the project.
Ben is likely to be the first choice for the film that centres around the story of a man, a woman and an Ambassador car.
Meanwhile, Leggy actress Sushmita Sen is set to strike back with six films after spending the last few years in the wilderness. The former Miss Universe will be seen in Samay, Paisa Vasool, It Rained That Night, Bewafa and Main Hoon Naa. In the next few months she will begin work on Ram Gopal Verma's Nimmi. The films will show her full range as she tackles a number of different characters. They range from a tough policewoman in Samay to playing the romantic lead in Main Hoon Naa.
Sushmita decided to take a step back from the industry after a number of well-publicised personal problems a few years ago.
Funny man Govinda is going to get serious in his forthcoming film projects. After making his name in slapstick comedies, Govinda is busy scouring the industry for scripts with more character driven roles.
"I have accepted my past mistakes and reflected on the repercussions. Just being talented is not sufficient. There has to be a discipline. I lacked in discipline and paid a price for it." he admitted in a recent interview.
The real reasons for the delays to highly anticipated heist caper Boom are now slowly emerging. The film going hugely over budget meant that the producers were unable to pay all the stars of the film in full. The situation got so bad that most of the star cast boycotted a recent party to promote the film and even took legal action against the team making the film.
Sources close to the project inform me that the films financiers are really annoyed with the team making the film because they want a return on their investment. With the initial buzz created by publicists dying down and the soundtrack being a let down it seems they will have to wait a while.
The producers are now claiming the film to be released on September 19. Boom stars Amitabh Bachhan, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Katrina Kaif.
