THE chance to train as a football coach is on offer to all residents in Ramsbottom and surrounding areas following links between Bury Council and Manchester Football Association.
The council can now provide a Level One Certificate in coaching football - the first step towards becoming a recognised football coach open to anybody over the age of 16, with practical experience of participating in football.
Robin Philp, Bury Council's Football Development Officer, said, "This course will enable participants to develop a basic understanding of safe, ethical and effective football coaching to young people. The certificate will qualify them to coach grass roots club teams for children and young people under the supervision of a qualified football coach."
Although the venue has yet to be confirmed, the course will run throughout the October half term between 9am and 5pm on Monday, October 27, Tuesday, October 28, Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31.
The cost is £100 and anyone seeking more details can call Robin on 0161 253 5893.
