A NEW awards scheme aimed at rewarding talented individuals working in the Lancashire tourism industry was revealed today.
The Lancashire Excellence in Tourism Skills (LETS) awards recognises commitment to improving the industry. The 12 award categories are: Excellence in customer service; unsung hero; most outstanding young tourism manager; most up and coming Lancashire chef; most valuable volunteer; best new entrant to the industry; most impressive tourism trainee; most promising tourism student; best practice in tourism training; commitment to industry; tourism team of the year and exceptional individual contribution to tourism.
Anthony Goldstone, chairman of the North West Tourist Board, said: "Tourism is fundamentally important to the economy of Lancashire, providing jobs, regeneration and ultimately quality of life for its business' and residents."
