While the odd footballer could be heard complaining it's was a bit chilly this month, spare a thought for the Kabbadi boys.
The hardened professionals were back in the region competing in a challenge match in Blackburn. The event held at Sahdsworth Leisure Centre attracted hundreds of keen Kabbadi fans from around the region.
A Blackburn Pakistani side came out on top in the game against a Midlands side representing India.
The Blackburn team was captained by Imran Manney and also featured Shabir Lohaar who travelled all the way from Pakistan for the game.
Lohaar a well known kabbadi player in Pakistan was named man of the match for his outstanding performance.
He is quickly proving to be something of a lucky charm for Blackburn as he helped his side to 20-14 vicotry last year on his first visit to Lancashire.
Other stars of the team included Asif Nagra, Mohar Rafi and Tahir Faruque.
Co-ordinator Javed Akhtar said, "It was another great day and we are delighted we retained the trophy. Next year we are hoping to hold in Witton Park as in the past."
