The Prince's Trust has teamed up with local football clubs and sporting organisations to provide unemployed young people opportunities to develop their football and personal development skills.

Football Live will take place between 13 - 20 October, and will be run in partnership with Blackburn Rovers FC and Burnley FC. It has been designed to offer unemployed young people aged between 16 and 19 an innovative way to engage with others and learn skills that will help them access work and/or education.

Over the course of a week, participants will not only be working closely with the two football clubs and playing within a Prince's Trust Team, but will also be given the chance to try their hand at refereeing and coaching. In addition, they will develop their own personal fitness and also learn CV writing and related skills that will increase their employment prospects.

Football Live will culminate in a presentation before the televised game on 20th October between Blackburn Rovers and Charlton FC, which adds another further exciting dimension to the course.

Richard Marsh, Head of Development for The Prince's Trust North West said, "We want to really encourage and motivate these young people course is as much about personal development as sport, I expect that we will be opening up opportunities in football for many of the 24 young people. We may even see one of our participants in The Premiership one day!"

The course will run from 13th until 20th October. To apply for a place contact The Prince's Trust on 01282 714161 / 01254 264806 or Text FOOTBALL to 07742 036 643.
