SWIMMERS from Carnforth Otters repeated their record-breaking performance of a year ago at the North Lancashire Squadron Championships at Salt Ayre.
The relay team event saw 12-year-old national age group qualifier Emily Jackson join team-mates Harriet Mc Gregor, Chantal Peach and Laura Devey to win the medley event ahead of a team from the powerful Newton Hall Squad.
And in the freestyle relay, at full strength with the return of Sophie Casson, they repeated the feat and broke the record they had set last year.
Tthe 13/14 yr boys relay team was also successful following the arrival of Michael Robinson to team up with Kingsley Barker, Phillip Cragg and Robert Bale - finishing just ahead of Leyland Barracudas in both medley and freestyle races.
In both the gets and mixed 'cannon' events - where two from each age group swim legs of a relay in ascending age order - Otters finished second to Newton Hall.
o There were some excellent results in the individual competition, notably Sophie Casson setting a new record with an impressive 1 minute 05.4 sec in winning the ladies 100m backstroke.
