PARENTS of village school pupils have set up a before and after hours club.
After 18 months of planning and development the Lowton West Time Out Club opens on November 3.
It will be run by a six strong committee of parents daily from 8am to 9am and from 3.15pm to 5.45pm.
Treasurer Heather Winstanley said the club will be a great help to working parents and with a range of activities for infants and juniors ranging from reception to year six.
She said the committee, which includes Michelle Bruce (chair), Catherine Townsend (secretary) Keri Maund, Christine Peacock and Andrea Cameron had employed two members of staff but parents would also be helping out.
She said grants from Wigan Council's Early Years Programme covered the first 12 months but they would then have to be self sufficient. Group members are grateful for numerous donations received.
