SCHOOL dinners can be the diet of champions!
That's the message from bright, young sporting stars who are pitching in as part of a national campaign to get children active and eating correctly.
The world of sport is very much on the menu in National School Meals Week (NSMW) and aims to raise the profile of school meals and celebrate the integral part they play in education.
For many youngsters, even now, a school dinner still represents the only proper meal of the day and probably the only one they enjoy as a social meal experience at the table with friends.
This year NSMW is striving to emphasise the role school meals can play in helping youngsters to adopt a healthier, balanced diet combined with regular exercise with a Food 4 Sport theme highlighting how the right food can give children the boost they need during school sports.
