RAILWAY bosses are to discuss emergency measures to keep vandals away from tracks after a train derailed on Wednesday night.
Vandals are being blamed for the incident near Green Lane level crossing in Heywood.
No-one was injured and damage to the engine which came off the freight tracks is said to be minor.
An East Lancashire Railway spokesman said: "We are in the process of discussing ways in which to reduce incidents of vandalism on the railway lines."
