BURY company Interquartz (UK) Ltd is helping to make a splash at Britain' premier theme park.
The Salford Street firm has supplied 300 phones for the newly opened Splash Landings Hotel at Alton Towers. The hotel is themed in a colourful, chaotic, bustling Caribbean style and the phones had to fit in with the decor.
"They wanted red Enterprise 98390 phones," said Charles Williams, the business development manager for Interquartz. "This is a standard colour for this phone so there was not a problem.
"However, they wanted 200 blue phones for the refurbished Alton Towers Hotel so we made a limited number to fulfil the contract. As a result these phones are unique: you won't find them anywhere else in the world".
Designed in Alton Towers' eccentric and inimitable way, the 216-roomed Splash Landings hotel is filled with fun features including bubbling water fountains, tropical plants and quirky plumbing.
While the two hotels provide an unforgettable "away-from-it-all" experience, the theme park wanted to ensure that its guests had all the necessary facilities to keep in touch.
Interquartz (UK) Ltd is a sister company of Pennine Telecom. The company manufactures and distributes business telephones into world markets.
