THE BBC is to be commended for its recent TV documentary exposing ardent racism in some police recruits. It should, of course, have no place in a modern police force.
I must confess, however, to feeling puzzled as to why, therefore, there should exist a Black and Asian Police Officers Association.
Surely, this in itself implies a form of racism among the officers who are members. If there existed a White Police Officers Association, wouldn't there be some kind of national outcry?
If there is to be harmony in the ranks, shouldn't this organisation stop setting itself apart and disband?
