BURNLEY have been boosted for tonight's trip to Wolves by the return of wandering winger Glen Little.
But there is bitter-sweet news for Clarets boss Stan Ternent with the news that fellow wide man Luke Chadwick faces a month on the sidelines.
Little, who has spent two months on loan at Bolton, answered Ternent's SOS call following the painful toe injury injury sustained by Chadwick last weekend.
And the on-loan Manchester United man now faces up to four weeks on the sidelines, despite X-rays thankfully revealing no broken bones.
Ternent confirmed: "The results of Luke's X-ray have shown that nothing is broken, but we are still looking at the best part of a month.
"It's a real nasty one because his toes have all swelled up, but he's a quick healer so we'll just have to wait and see how he comes along."
Little will step straight into the starting line up at Molineux after Ternent beat yesterday's 5pm deadline to end his Reebok loan spell.
But the Clarets chief, who is still awaiting news on a scan to reveal the extent of Paul Weller's calf injury, also picked up during the Millwall game, has been unable to further boost his depleted numbers ahead of the third round clash.
The Clarets chief said: "They (other clubs) have their own agenda and there are a lot of matches to be played. Certainly suspensions and injuries play a big part, so people aren't in a position to lend players at the moment.
"You have to look after your own side of things, but I'm trying hard and sooner or later something will happen for us I'm sure."
Despite Little's return, Ternent will look to extend the loan spells of Delroy Facey and Gareth Farrelly for a further month once the cup game is out of the way.
But the defiant Burnley boss is adamant a depleted squad won't affect his side's positive approach to tonight's tie.
He added: "We're looking forward to going there. Wolves were in the same division as us last season but deservedly got promoted and obviously, we go there as underdogs.
"They have a big fan base, a benefactor and a fantastic manager in Dave Jones, who is a good pal of mine, and they've got very good players. But you never know in the cup."
Burnley only lost to Premiership opposition once in both the Worthington and FA Cup last season, knocked out of the Worthington Cup at the quarter final stage courtesy of a 2-0 defeat at home to Manchester United.
But the Clarets boss won't be reading too much into his side's recent cup form, even though Wolves boss Jones is expected to rest a number of senior players.
"Whoever he puts out it will still be a very good side," Ternent admitted.
"I won't be resting any! I'll be lucky to get a team out. I've got a few injuries, so we're a bit thin on the ground again.
"Robbie Blake's calf and the back of his knee are still a little sore. He played on Saturday with it but it's still a little sore.
"We're struggling a little at the moment but we'll go down and enjoy the game and we'll try to win it."
