STOCKPORT GEORGIANS...1 PRESTWICH HEYS...3: HEYS' record in recent seasons has been good against Georgians on their own ground.

This continued as they came away victorious and extended an unbeaten run to seven games.

The Cromley Road ground was, as usual, in excellent condition and this suited Heys as once again they displayed a brand of football which gets better every week.

The ability to keep the ball on the ground, allied to good passing, had Georgians on the defensive for the first half but good defending restricted Heys to a single goal. This came from a piece of clinical finishing from leading scorer, Brandon Jolly.

In the second half, Georgians, with the advantage of the wind, replied in a more positive manner and Sammons equalised after hesitant Heys defending. Within minutes, Heys regained the lead when Jon Lyons curled a free kick into the far corner.

Damien Rooney was called into action with a brilliant one-handed save to prevent a second Georgians' equaliser. John Garrick made the game safe as, in a swift break, he took the ball around the advancing 'keeper before netting from a narrow angle.
