A MAN who smashed a takeaway window and also sank his teeth into his partner and her friend has been sent for anger management treatment.
Burnley magistrates heard how Steven Phillip Hartley, 28, also threw a concrete slab through a window, knocking over a Christmas tree, last December.
Hartley, of Coal Clough Lane, Burnley, admitted damaging property on August 30. The offence had been committed during the period of a 12 month conditional discharge imposed for damage, assault causing actual bodily harm and common assault.
The defendant was given a 12 month community rehabilitation order to include anger management and bereavement counselling. He must also pay £173.19 compensation.
Mercedah Jabbari, prosecuting, told the court Hartley caused £250 worth of damage at the Fish Bar in Burnley after breaking the window.
He had struck during a conditional discharge imposed after several offences committed previously on one night.
The defendant had been in a relationship with his girlfriend for about nine months. She was upstairs in bed at his parents' home when Hartley opened the door and accused her of sleeping with her friend Mark Lumsden.
The defendant ran into the bedroom and punched his partner. Mr Lumsden tried to pull him off her but was bitten by Hartley.
Hartley then bit his girlfriend three times on the arm and when he went down to the front door police were waiting to talk to him.
