COUNCILLORS are set to refuse planning permission for a caf at a farm in Clayton-le-Moors because of fears over road safety.
The application was for retrospective consent for the change of use of part of the existing farm shop at Fairfield Farm, Longsight Road.
But in a report to the the Planning and Development Committee of Ribble Valley Council, the Highways Agency say that the caf had the potential to attract many more customers, including the drivers of slow-moving HGVs which would create a safety hazard when entering and leaving the site.
The application has been recommended for refusal when the committee meets tomorrow night.
